I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Murcia in Spain. Subsequently, I pursued a doctoral degree, conducting research at both the Instituto de Neurociencias de Alicante (Spain) and KU Leuven (Belgium). My research focused on the pharmacological and biophysical properties of sensory TRP channels. Subsequently, I was awarded a postdoctoral research position at the University of California, Berkeley, USA, where I investigated the restoration of visual function in mice through the use of optochemicals. Currently, I serve as Associate Professor at the Universidad Miguel Hernández-Instituto de Neurociencias in Spain, where my research focuses on the morphofunctional organization of corneal nerves and the optochemical control of their activity.
