Rudi Beyaert is full professor in Molecular Biology at Ghent University and Deputy Science Director at the VIB-UGent Center for Inflammation Research, where he also leads the Unit of Molecular Signal Transduction in Inflammation. He has a track record of >30 years in studying immune responses and mechanisms and has authored over 310 peer-reviewed papers that were cited >32 000 times. He is ranked by Clarivate among the most Highly Cited Researchers. He is also an inventor on >15 patent applications and has trained >60 PhD students and postdocs. Prof. Beyaert coordinates the VIB Grand Challenges Program on primary immunodeficiency.
