Institute of Cancer Research, UK

Pascal Meier is Professor of Molecular Cell Biology at the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), London, where he leads the Cell Death and Immunity Team within the Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins Research Centre. His research explores how cell death and inflammatory signalling shape anti-tumour immunity, and how these mechanisms can be exploited to overcome treatment resistance.

Originally from Switzerland, Pascal obtained his PhD from the University of Zürich and undertook postdoctoral training at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund with Gerard Evan and Julian Downward. He established his laboratory at the ICR in 2000 and became Professor in 2009.

His work combines fundamental mechanistic biology with translational and industry-linked cancer research. He collaborates internationally, contributes to funding panels and reviews for leading scientific journals. A committed mentor, Pascal previously served as Senior Tutor and is Postdoc Dean at the ICR, supporting researchers in developing ambitious, independent and unconventional scientific careers.
