Moritz Hofer is a researcher specializing in stem cells and organoid technology. He recently completed his PhD in the laboratory of Prof. Matthias Lutolf at EPFL, Switzerland. Before this, he earned his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering also at EPFL, during which he spent time in Prof. Kevin Chalut’s lab at the University of Cambridge, to complete his Master’s thesis. There he focused on the mechanobiological influences on the naïve state of pluripotent stem cells. During his doctoral research, Moritz developed methods to enhance the reproducibility, functionality, and accessibility of diverse organoid systems, and utilized these systems to study host-pathogen interactions.
