Liesbeth is a neuroscientist turned science communicator, with a PhD from KU Leuven and postdoctoral experience at UNSW Sydney. After working in science communication at VIB, she founded Beakon to help busy researchers gain more visibility for their work.

Through her work, she hopes to give science a face and researchers a louder voice, while conveying the immense value, power and beauty of scientific research.

She is also the founder of BE SciComm, the Belgian association of science communicators, which she started to build the professional community she felt was missing and help move the field forward.
