Annelore
Vandendriessche
Dr. Annelore Vandendriessche is a pathologist. After completing her residency at the University of Antwerp, she currently works as a PhD researcher at Ghent University and the VIB Proteomics Core in Zwijnaarde.
Her research within the BE.Amycon project focuses on improving the diagnosis and typing of amyloidosis by integrating mass spectrometry-based proteomics into Belgian diagnostic workflows. Through this approach, she aims to develop a reliable and efficient diagnostic pipeline that enhances amyloidosis management by providing faster and more accurate diagnoses.
As a pathologist, she understands the crucial impact such advancements could have on patient care. As a researcher, she hopes to bridge the gap between clinical practice and science, ensuring that these innovative technologies translate into real-world applications. Being part of both worlds allows her to approach amyloidosis diagnostics from a unique perspective, combining clinical expertise with proteomic research to drive meaningful progress in this field.
In addition to this, her research also includes exploring the deeper proteomic landscape of more common amyloidosis types to refine diagnostic approaches and investigate alternative strategies that could streamline and improve amyloidosis typing.
