Arnold
Isabelle Arnold is Professor of Mucosal Immunology at the University of Zürich, Switzerland. She obtained her PhD in Cancer Biology from the University of Zürich in 2011, before joining the laboratory of Prof. Fiona Powrie at the University of Oxford as a post-doctoral fellow, where she began to work on intestinal eosinophils. In 2020, she was awarded an Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation to establish her group at the Institute of Experimental Immunology, followed in 2023 by an SNSF Consolidator Grant (Swiss ERC Back-up scheme). The Arnold lab studies how eosinophils contribute to local homeostatic and inflammatory processes, and which signaling pathways drive their pleiotropic activities. Their work has shed light on eosinophil transcriptional heterogeneity across tissues and uncovered new roles for eosinophils in regulating Th1 immunity, host defense and promoting anti-tumor immunity in colorectal cancer models.
