Staf Van Reet, PhD, has a long track record in Pharma, among others as the Managing Director of Janssen Pharmaceutica N.V. and President of the Janssen Research Foundation, leading the worldwide research and development activities of the Janssen Group of companies. Additionally, Staf has solid experience in venture capital, having been responsible for corporate venturing in Europe as a Vice President of the Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation. Staf also gained extensive experience in the biotech sector, amongst others as co-founder of Movetis and Chairman of its Board of Directors until the acquisition of the company by Shire. Staf has been a member of the Board of VIB since its foundation in 1996 and chairman of its Board from 2013 till 2016. Currently, he is still active in the life sciences, among others as the founder and CEO of Viziphar Biosciences, as chairman of the Board of DeuterOncology and as a member of the Advisory Board of Thuja Capital Management.
