Dr. Estibaliz Gómez-de-Mariscal is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Prof. Ricardo Henriques’ group at ITQB NOVA in Portugal. She combines AI, computational methods and imaging to study cellular behaviors. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematical Engineering at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, in Spain. She contributed novel methods to the fields of cancer cell migration, cell phototoxicity, and microbiology, and co-developed open-source deep learning tools for microscopy, like deepImageJ, the BioImage Model Zoo and DL4MicEverywhere.
