CEO, Single Technologies AB, SE

Johan Strömqvist, PhD, is a biophysicist, mathematician, and engineer dedicated to advancing the intersection of biology and technology. He earned his doctorate from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where he focused on ultra-sensitive detection of protein-protein interactions in live single cells, leading to multiple publications in the field.

Dr. Strömqvist founded Apiconisis to explore how various drug compounds modulate protein-protein interactions within cells, a critical area for drug discovery. Thereafter, he spent several years working on an in situ sequencing platform in collaboration with leading academic groups at SciLifeLab in Stockholm, contributing to the development of this cutting-edge research area.

Currently, as CEO and Founder of Single Technologies, Dr. Strömqvist leads the development of 3-D Sequencing™, a patented platform that enables three-dimensional, high-throughput DNA sequencing. His work has resulted in several patents across DNA sequencing, 3-D scanning, and
3-D fluidics, positioning Single Technologies as a pioneer in spatial and volumetric sequencing.

Dr. Strömqvist’s research and innovation are driven by the belief that when we understand the "source code" (DNA) of cells and multicellular organisms, humanity will make substantial advances in health. Achieving this requires vast amounts of data and advanced AI algorithms, with 3-D Sequencing™ positioned as a pivotal component in this transformative journey.
