Walczak
Henning Walczak is a Alexander-von-Humboldt Professor of Biochemistry and Chair of the Institute of Biochemistry I (IBC1) at the University of Cologne as well as Chair of the Centre for Cell Death, Cancer and Inflammation at University College London. He obtained his PhD in the laboratory of Prof. Peter H. Krammer, a pioneer in Fas (CD95) biology. His research investigates the functional interplay between cell death, ubiquitin, inflammation and immunity, with particular focus on advancing our understanding of tumour immunity and auto-immunity and harnessing newly gained insight for novel therapies. He is recipient of various prestigious prizes and awards, including an Alexander von Humboldt Professorship Prize, two consecutive Wellcome Trust Investigator Awards and an ERC Advanced grant.
