Vincent Bonin is a Principal Investigator at Neuro-Electronics Research Flanders (NERF) and an Associate Professor at KU Leuven. Originally from Canada, he studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Sherbrooke and Computer Science at Hamburg University of Technology. Vincent shifted to neuroscience during his PhD at ETH Zurich, where he focused on visual processing. He continued exploring sensory circuits during postdoctoral work at the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute and Harvard Medical School. At NERF, his lab investigates how sensory information is processed in the brain, with a focus on visual and thalamocortical circuits. His research employs techniques like functional imaging, circuit tracing, and optogenetics to study neural circuits in both health and disease.
