Klaas Witvrouw, 31 years old, graduated as a master in Biology in 2017 at the University of Ghent. After a short assignment as an interim teacher in high-school, he spent 4 years as a doctoral researcher at the VIB/University of Ghent working in the field of plant molecular biology. After obtaining PhD degree he started working in a contract research organization (CRO), thereby pivoting his career both in terms of working environment (academia to industry) as well as biotechnology ‘type’ (agricultural to pharmaceutical). After working for 8 months as a scientific liaison on the CRO’s side, Klaas joined Argenx as a clinical scientist in January 2023. Since then, he has been involved in the development of an active phase II clinical study, as well as supporting the selection and development of suitable biomarker assays in other clinical programs.
