Technical University of Munich, DE

Dietz is a professor of biophysics at Technische Universität München (TUM), specializing in DNA nanotechnology, biophysics, and lately protein design. With a focus on understanding and engineering molecular systems, Dietz’ research bridges physics and biology to address fundamental and applied challenges in biomolecular science. Dietz has been with TUM since 2009, advancing to Full Professor. Before joining TUM, Dietz conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School and earned a doctorate in physics on single-molecule experiments exploring protein mechanics.
Dietz work has been widely recognized, earning major awards such as the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize, the ERC Starting Grant, ERC Consolidator Grant, and the ERC Advanced Grant, among others.
